The AvMap EKP IV brings moving map portability to the next level, especially with its cool and compact unit that has larger and sunlight-viewable 7 inches diagonal LCD display, with viewing options in either landscape or portrait orientation.1 This is only 4.75 inches in width and 7 inches in length, making it very compact. It has 12-Channel GPS that operates on 10 to 35-volt power supply of airplanes and its internal batteries for emergency situations can last up to 1.5 hours. Furthermore, data can be backed up on compact flash cards with ready integration with other onboard navigation systems like GPS and autopilot.

A professional version of EKP IV has been released that has improved capabilities and simple yet user-friendly interface. It is faster and now have four Baud rate options of 4800, 9600, 19200 and 38400, and auto baud rate. Most importantly, a 10 microsecond delay has been fixed in the NMEA output.

EKP-IV Pro is the specialized version of the Electronic Knee Pad which is intended to offer special software features and data sets. Hardware improvements can be seen in the new GPS UBLOX receiver that is more accurate. Overall, this is a great value of $1999.00, inclusive of VAT.
